In Canada we have two seasons … summer and outerwear season!
Being Canadian means spending close to 70 percent of the year in some form of outerwear.
As fall is now in full swing our closets have switched over, and we reopen the coat closet. Coats are far more than a necessity this season – they are a way to express yourself as you dash from car to work, home to a night out and strutting the streets here and abroad.
The classic coat with refined new tailoring is back in a big way. Lush fabrications, colours and embellishments give the classic coat an update. Pop in and take a look at No. 21’s classic black wool coat with removable leopard print collar and embellished buttons, or Coliac’s (a new and exciting line to Milli) twist on the traditional plaid overcoat.
The Puffer or Puffa jacket continues to be the go-to for most Canadians and we all own at least one. They are light, versatile, stylish and dare we say practical! Whether cropped or long, light enough to wear underneath another coat or warm enough to walk the dog during a blizzard we have the one to suit your needs. Our particular favourites are Herno, ADD, and Adidas by Stella McCartney.
And let’s not forget faux fur, shearling and fur. It’s hard to tell the difference anymore between them, and the warmth and coziness factor is off the charts. Come in and cozy up to Desa, Luisa Cerano and Sylvie Schimmel.
Whatever your preference in outerwear we’ve got you covered (literally).
On October 29 you’re invited to our Annual Outerwear Event at Milli Hamilton. Watch your inbox for more details and special outerwear designer trunk shows!
